Maia, Our New Addition to Our Family

Welcome to Mrs. McConnell's class!  I am very excited for a new school year!  This will be my 9th year teaching kindergarten at Kincaid Elementary.  Kindergarten is my absolute favorite grade to teach.  I feel that establishing a great foundation is so important for success in school, and to also instill the love of learning!  I love their eagerness to learn and how excited they are when they learn to read and write!

Not only am I a teacher, I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children, Aiden (3 years), Maia (4 months).  I enjoy spending time with my family and craft when I have "free time" (I'm still looking for that "free time" - please let me know when you find it!).  This past summer I had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom and take my two kids on hiking adventures with the Hike It Baby organization.  We hiked Virgin Creek Falls trail and saw the beautiful waterfall, Kincaid park to the sandy beach, Blueberry Loop at Flat Top, and then around Lake Hood.

Please join us on Tuesday, Aug. 18th from 4 to 5pm for Popsicle on the Playground at Kincaid Elementary.  Students will find out who their new teacher will be for the 2015-2016 school year!  I will have a sign up sheet to sign up for kindergarten orientation appointments.  The first day of Kindergarten is Wednesday, Aug. 26th.  If you need to see our classroom supply list, please click on the tab above under "Supply Wish List."  See you soon!
