Computer Lab

We lucked out and were able to go to computer lab during our first week of kindergarten! We learned how to use the mouse to move the cursor and explored the KidPix drawing program with a partner! We had fun drawing and adding pictures to the page! We also learned how to log out.

Great job to the kindergartners for sharing and taking turns today!! :-)

Computer lab is now on Wednesdays from 10:20-11:10. If you haven't yet, please bring in headphones by next Wednesday! :-)

First Day of Kindergarten

Our first day of kindergarten started off with a presentation in the Multipurpose Room for kindergartners and their family! Mrs. Gallagher, our principal, read a first day of school story called "The Kissing Hand." The incoming kindergartners gathered around her as she read the story of Chester's first day of school.

When we went back to our classroom, we learned some of our morning routines. As a class we came up with class rules. We took a tour around the school and visited where our pullouts were going to be. We practiced how to hold a pencil correctly with the "OK" sign. :-) Afterward, we went outside to learn about playground rules from Ms. Jeannie.
After lunch, we worked on a Kissing Hand activity. We colored Chester the raccoon and practiced how to hold and use scissors correctly. We had our first Health class with Miss Wasson. For math, we were able to play a matching shape game on the Smartboard! It was so much fun!
At last, it was what everyone was waiting for: CENTER TIME! We had about 15 minutes to play in different areas around the classroom. It was so much fun!

We had a great day at school and I look forward to tomorrow!!

    Meet Mrs. McConnell

Hello! I'm Mrs. McConnell (previously known as Miss Yan)! I got married this past July to my husband Chris. Together we have a dog named Buddy who is almost 11 years old. :-)

We enjoy Latin dancing, watching plays, being foodies, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends.

This is my 5th year at Kincaid Elementary. I'm very excited to meet you and can't wait to be your teacher!

    Love,

    Mrs. McConnell
