Safe_Snacks
Safe Snacks – Miss Yan’s student allergies
(Corn, corn syrup, corn meal, corn starch (less than 2% is okay), popcorn, oats, rice, chicken and whole milk)
Here are some creative and healthy snack ideas for class snack donations:
Fruits/Berries
Blueberries
- Fresh or frozen
- “Just Blueberries” – Dried berries – Find in Natural Foods section of Carrs and Fred Meyer

- “Just Strawberries” – Dried berries
Bananas
- Fresh slices (soak in lemon juice for 20 seconds to keep them from turning brown)
- Banana chips (many varieties)

Cucumber Slices and carrots with sweet poppy seed dip or ranch dressing
Fresh French Bread Baguette slices – with cheese or olive oil/balsamic vinegar mixture (give kids a spout on small bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Let them pour the oil first and then add a drop of balsamic vinegar on top. Mix it up with a spoon (it swirls and makes neat designs) and dip! Cucumbers are also a hit with this mixture

If you are interested in purchasing Scholastic books, please mark the books on the form sent home last week with a check or cash, or select the books online and pay by credit (www.scholastic.com/parentordering user name: yankiddos password: Kincaid).
Homework is also due tomorrow and we will also begin collecting can foods for United Way Week of Caring if you are interested in donating. :-)
